Barry Clark

Barry has a lifetime of boating experience. Barry is a Commercial Master, Registered Electrician, Electronics Technician, Commercial Pilot, and Licensed International Rally Driver. Barry has offshore as well as local boating experience.

Since the 1970's Barry has worked on a wide range of vessels from trailer boats to container ships. Barry's apprenticeship included; electrical and control systems, electronics, mechanical engineering, hydraulics, and rigging. He has more than 35 years experience in these fields. Barry also has decades of experience building race and rally cars and developing competition engines. In 1988 when the Subaru Motorsport Group was formed it consisted of Barry Clark Motorsport (Auckland), Possum Bourne Motorsports (Pukekohe), and Robert Hart (Nelson). These were the only NZ rally teams recognised and supported by Subaru NZ.

Barry has more than 25 years business management experience. Barry established 'Barry Clark Marine' in 1990 and has devoted his time to this business ever since.

Based in West Auckland, New Zealand. Barry Clark Marine is a member of the Independant Marine Trades Association Incorporated. Barry Clark Marine was established in 1990 and has enjoyed a continually expanding client base since that time.

We have installed and serviced equipment on a huge variety of boats ranging from the very old to the very new. We specialize in vessels in the 10 to 30 metre LOA range. We are experienced in communicating with boat owners, and interpreting and understanding their needs. We can organize and supervise sub-contractors to cover any work outside the fields in which we specialize. We can also arrange haul-out and hard stand services for you, and deliver your boat to and from the travelift if required.
